Japan's BLOOD STAIN CHILD took part in the annual GekiRock Fest, which ran January 28th - 30th in Nagoya, Osaka and Tokyo respectively and included Italy's DESTRAGE, Spain's RISE TO FALL and Japan's METAL SAFARI. Greek female vocalist Sophia has issued the following recap of Day 3 in Tokyo:

"The last day of GekiRock was amazing!

At first, since I was worried about my health and the state of my throat, I secluded myself in a small dressing room and I didn't interact with almost anybody all day. I took my medicines and cough drops and luckily enough, I had recovered by the time our show began. As a matter of fact, there's no way to survive the damage from air conditioners and smoke if you're a melodic vocalist. This stuff is just out of the question. Therefore, I was very thankful for that dressing room, it saved the day.

The show was really great too. We had a big stage, so we could move easily and the audience participated energetically, moshing and rocking out to the songs. It was a great day for everybody, thanks!

We also had special guests that night. Mr. Hisanori Yoshida and Chantilly Fumiko came to watch the show. Mr. Yoshida is a very famous voice actor (Gundam Seed, Detroit Metal City) and radio producer. Despite your full schedule, thank you very much for honouring us with your presence. I'm grateful I could meet such an exceptional person.

I had the chance to talk with the fans a lot, which made me very happy. I took many pictures and talked with several people, thank you very much! As a new member, this is the best joy and reward. When I joined BSC I was worried about many things, but thanks to your continuous support, I want to intensify my efforts and show you an even better performance in the future. This year's goal is to bring BSC to the stars!

There's a lot of announcements from now on, so please be patient for a little longer! Everything is just around the corner, I promise...

Apart from that, while I was in the dressing room, I got to know a band that was performing on the same night. Seeing the name NOCTURNAL BLOODLUST, my first thought was that it was a black metal band. Well, not quite. They proved to be...an angry, Visual Kei, hot band, hahaha. Produced by METAL SAFARI's Hiro, they surprised me with their professional work when they gave me their CDs. Keep it up guys.

A fan was sweet enough to give me 'reverse Valentine's' chocolate. In Japan girls give chocolate to the boys on Valentine's day. So, I got alcoholic chocolate, hell yeah!

Blood Stain Child will make their first ever live appearance in the US at the A-KON 22 in Dallas, TX, which runs from June 10-12, 2011. A-KON is one of America's largest Japanese culture events. Stay tuned for details, go to this location for event information.

The band's as-yet-untitled new album is due out internationally in the spring via Coroner Records.
