Greece's Rockpages has issued an interview with CHRIS LANEY regarding his latest album, Only Come Out At Night. The following is an excerpt:

Q: What was the inspiration behind the album’s title?

A: It all started out when I was fooling around… having fun with some friends. I told them that I could only dream when the kids are in bed (laughs)! That’s the time when I come out at night. Initially, I wanted to call the album I Only Come Out At Night, but there is also this KISS bootleg (ed.note: “We Only Come Out At Night”) and I decided to keep it without the pronoun."

Q: I really like the cover. Was it your idea?

A: "Yes. I wanted to make it like a sequel to the first Pure cover but at the same time I wanted it to be completely different. The picture focuses only on my eyes… I wanted it to be a little bit darker than the first one but I also wanted to be kinda hidden… like “this is the second album by Chris Laney”… more people know me and stuff like that."

Q: It reminded me of the uncensored version of POISON's Open Up And Say Ahh…

A: "I haven’t thought about it. I guess you are right. I was aiming for that old DAVID BOWIE record which I can’t remember the title right now…

Q: That’s OK… Let’s talk about some of the songs on the new record. You once again worked with BRUCE KULICK. When did you first meet him and what made you decide to collaborate with him on Pure and then on the new record?

A: "I first met Bruce in 2004. He was about to do a Scandinavian Tour and he wanted me to be the singer of his solo band. Before that, the Swedish KISS Army contacted me – regarding the Bruce Kulick Tour - and I sent my take on 'Crazy, Crazy Nights' to him. He really liked it and next thing I knew was a small tour… 5-6 days with him. Being a crazy KISS fan, this was truly amazing for me. We then discussed the possibility of doing some music together. We first worked on Pure and now Bruce has 3 co-writing credits on the new record."
