DORO - 25th Anniversary Party And Concert A Rousing Success!

BW&BK; was there as the German metal queen DORO played three hours, with tons of luminaries and ended the evening with a reformed WARLOCK - one show only! Aided by opening bands, all with a female bent (HOLY MOSES, LEAVES EYES, ARCH ENEMY), the 20,000 seat ISS Dome (usually reserved for ice hockey) hosted an international contingent of metalheads, onstage and off. After joined by Bobby (OVER KILL) Ellsworth and a pyro-laden 'Burn It Up' with Jean Beauvoir on guitar, new single 'Celebrate' saw Doro joined onstage by Liv Kristine, Floor Jansen (AFTER FOREVER), half of GIRLSCHOOL, the singer from Sister Sin and Sabina Classen (of Holy Moses). GRAVE DIGGER's Chris Boltendahl and guitarist AXEL RUDI PELL helped with 'When East Meets West', while TARJA TURUNEN (ex-NIGHTWISH) performed two songs, 'Walking With Angels', then Doro reciprocated, adding her voice to Turunen's solo 'The Seer'. The set ended with a visit from the most visible SCORPIONS, Klaus Meine and Rudolf Schenker, for 'Big City Nights' and 'Rock You Like A Hurricane'. Pictures and a full report to follow!
