Finnish heavy metallers SKIRMISH will release their new album, Jet-Black Days, on October 4th via Eternal Sound Records.

The follow-up to the 2011 debut album, Through The Abacinated Eyes, Jet-Black Days introduces not only the new lineup of the band, but a new more broad style of expression in the groups music. The fast songs are faster, the melodic parts more atmospheric and the extremes have been stretched out to every direction comparing to the debut album. But the northern melancholy is still strongly present also on the new album.

Says the band: "Upon making the songs we didn't want to limit ourselves into a certain mold, but instead we tried out all the ideas we came up with, and a lot of them ended up on the album. Of course a lot of the ideas were wasted as well, but nothing was scratched only because of genre limitations. Lyrically we swim in deep waters. The album is not a concept album per se, but atop personal issues, the main theme of the album concentrates around the darker side of the world, and the rising of that dark side into the dominant element in our daily lives. The end of the world, running out of cigarettes, running out of everything."
