As previously reported, the TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA's east coast company will be without bassist Dave Z this year, as Dave has decided to focus on his own band, ZO2. His official statement regarding his departure is below:

"Dear Friends,

As most of you know, along with my brother Paulie and our 'brother' Joey, ZO2 is my passion, vision and creative center. We've had a lot of recent good-fortune having signed a contract with a record label and having our CD Ain't It Beautiful released in retail, landing a TV deal with IFC (Independent Film Channel) and, mostly, having spent a very full summer playing in some of our old favorite clubs as well as adding many new ones to our list. The friends we've made along the way are what makes this all worthwhile. ZO2 has been picking up momentum at every turn and we're not going to quit now.

Sadly, in order to pursue this dream, I've had to make a difficult decision regarding my participation with TSO. Because of timing, this year it isn't possible for me to participate in TSO's 2007 tour. It feels a little like moving away from home. They've been like a second family for many years and the founders along with the entire cast and crew have been incredibly supportive of my success with ZO2. At the same time, I'm going to miss all the friends I've made and see in the audience and on the signing lines each year along all the stops with TSO. However, the time has come to make the leap and pursue my dream with 100% of my effort and commitment.

I will miss everyone during the TSO season but hope that you'll not only support my decision but also wish us well. I look forward to seeing you at ZO2 shows when we make stops in your towns.

As for the TSO team, I can't thank each of you enough for the opportunities and support you've shown me. You're my family and, though I don't have to wish you success, I wish you all an amazing tour and future. And thank you for including me for all these years.

May we all have good health and good fortune as we move forward. And warmest wishes to everyone for a wonderful holiday season and 2008!"
