HANOI ROCKS - New Book About Late Drummer RAZZLE Available For Pre-Order

Author Ari Väntänen has written a book about Nicholas Charles Dingley (1960 - 1984), better known as Razzle, the English drummer for Finnish glam rock band Hanoi Rocks.

Titled Razzle - The Story Of The Hanoi Rocks Legend, it was originally published in Finnish in 2020. On January 28th, an English version of the hardcover book will be available, pre-orders can be placed now at this location. A description reads:

"A funny and wistful saga of a mythical cult icon. Razzle played drums in Hanoi Rocks. His life ended in a car accident involving the singer in Mötley Crüe. But who really was Razzle, and what was his life like?

To answer these questions, the author of this book interviewed dozens of people who knew Nicholas “Razzle” Dingley. Together with old interview quotes, their stories create an image of a lovable rascal who was always up for a practical joke, kept his band together, and loved his rock’n’roll lifestyle from the bottom of his soul.

Razzle lived fast and died young, but he affected countless lives."

Speaking to Zach Saunders of Isle of Wight County Press, Väntänen commented, “I managed to track down about 70 people who knew Razzle, and they provided me with stories, memories, and photos. I built the narrative out of their interviews.”

“The members of the band always told me how important Razzle was as a band member and a friend. He was the one who kept their wild bunch together.”

Razzle played drums for Hanoi Rocks from 1982, until his death in 1984. He can be heard on the studio albums Back To Mystery City and Two Steps From The Move, as well as the live album All Those Wasted Years.
