Operatic Metal Project UPON WINGS Release 'The Dream' Video
August 10, 2012, 12 years ago
UPON WINGS released their debut single, 'The Dream', digitally back in March. 'The Dream' is the result of a collaboration between classically-trained mezzo-soprano Anne Erickson and Grammy-nominated producer Glenn Brown (EVANS BLUE, THE VERVE PIPE).
Upon Wings have now released the video for 'The Dream'.
“This was a huge accomplishment for Upon Wings, to release our first music video,” frontwoman Anne Erickson said. “We've received such a warm response for ‘The Dream’, and I’m glad we were able to put together a music video to compliment the song. We are honored by the positive response and can’t wait to release new music soon.”Watch the new video below:
Upon Wings recently recorded new music at the Johnny K-owned Goovemaster Studios in Chicago, with a producer who they will announce soon and plan to release their debut this fall.
Upon Wings hails from the US and can be described as operatic metal with a classical influence. After creating the idea for Upon Wings, Erickson — who is also a music journalist for Gannett, Gibson, Loudwire and radio host and managing editor of Audio Ink Radio — entered the studio with Michigan-based, Grammy-nominated producer and engineer Glenn Brown to put the ideas onto tape. The result is music with a strong Euro-classical influence, showcasing Erickson’s classically-trained mezzo soprano vocals.
