SILENTIUM - "If You Classify Us In The Same Category As NIGHTWISH You Obviously Haven’t Done Your Homework"

SILENTIUM vocalist Riina Rinkinen is featured in a new interview with Metal Express Radio. An excerpt is available below:
Q: Female fronted bands are often compared to NIGHTWISH. Do you think that has harmed or helped Silentium?
Rinkinen: "Tuomas Holopainen produced the album previous to the first one I sang on, so the connection obviously cannot be denied. But in my opinion, as a journalist, if you classify us in the same category as Nightwish you obviously haven’t done your homework. And I don’t mean you per se! Just as a trivia note, Silentium has been around longer than Nightwish. I think it has its pros and cons. Not for me to say, or to influence, so I’ve figured it’s just best to leave the whole subject alone."
Q: Considering how many lead singers Silentium has already had, what motivated you to join the group?
Rinkinen: "I loved the music. The guys were great. I felt at home from the first training session. And now they’re all like my big brothers; yes, I’m the youngest one."
