The Layne Staley Fund - in memory of Layne Thomas Staley (August 22, 1967 - April 5, 2002) was the lead singer and co-lyricist of ALICE IN CHAINS and the short-lived supergroup MAD SEASON - have issued the following update:

"Every year in mid August, Layne Staley Fund celebrates Layne's birthday by putting on it's annual tribute and benefit concert. If you've attended one of our tributes in the past, you know it's a lot more than a rockin' concert!

We take extra care to ensure that it's an intimate, spiritual experience that transmits our message of hope & love of Layne to everyone in attendance by having special guests and segments held throughout the evening.

We also hold raffles, a silent auction and our merchandise booth sells the Official Layne Staley Fund Tribute Poster, T-shirt and Calendar that we design specifically for the event each year. Proceeds from the tribute, merchandise sold, raffles and donations all go towards funding drug recovery programs.

Excitement is building in 2008! Can you feel It?

Layne-Lovers of the world, better get ready! There's been so much desire out there to honor Layne that this year we're expanding our tribute from a one-night event to a full-scale Layne Staley Tribute weekend! All events will take place in Seattle, Washington in mid August.

Lots more details are coming very soon so keep checking this page or become our friends on MySpace to get the latest scoop! Each one of us at Layne Staley Fund are very excited and looking forward to meeting you all on Layne Staley Tribute Weekend!
